Jada’s Story

My name is Jada. I became part of The Hope Collective after attending the Peckham Hope Hack in 2023, whilst studying for my Childhood, Youth and Education degree. I saw young people being given space to express themselves in ways that too often go unheard.

I joined The Hope Collective because I wanted to support young people in environments where their voices are truly valued, not just told they matter.

Since then, I’ve met talented and passionate young people from all over the country who come from incredibly different walks of life. What unites them is a shared determination for change. At Hope Hacks, they don’t just raise issues, they speak confidently about what affects them most and work collaboratively to propose practical solutions.

These experiences have shown me just how powerful young people’s voices are when they are taken seriously. Their ideas are grounded in lived experience and focused on what genuinely matters to them and not what adults assume matters. The team and I have been given opportunities to advocate for young people in spaces where their voices might otherwise have gone unheard, making sure their perspectives are heard by decision-makers and valued by those in power.

Being part of The Hope Collective, I’m constantly inspired by the way young people show a great ability in shaping ideas and solutions, and it creates real hope that they can influence change.
